The resources have been designed to a set of principles as follows:
1. All resources focus on using GeoGebra where there is a clear benefit for developing students’ understanding.
2. Three specific pedagogic techniques have been used. These are
- Encouraging students to discuss and predict what they think will happen before using GeoGebra to check
- Dragging points in GeoGebra
- Explaining to students what they will see on the GeoGebra screen and reinforcing their learning after using GeoGebra
3. Guidance, in the form of onscreen instructions in GeoGebra applets and videos which focus on the use of GeoGebra, has been provided.
4. GeoGebra books have been designed so that they prompt you to remember the three pedagogic techniques.
5. The same colour coding has been used throughout the GeoGebra applets. The colour coding is as follows
Furthermore, suggestions from the British Dyslexia Association have been used, so GeoGebra has a cream, rather than white, background.
